Running in style.

I heart Second Sole like nobody’s business. I get my shoes, socks, stylin’ fanny pack, accessories, and Clif Shot Bloks there, but even with the awesome discount Eddie gives me for putting up with half his staff on a daily basis (the boys cross country team at Notre Dame College rent the house next door), I can’t justify buying running clothing that costs more than my favorite pair of skinny jeans. For affordable and effective performance gear I head to the local Target. My most favorite running tank as of late is from their C9 line, and it just so happens to be on sale for $9.99 this week.

I already have 4 so I’m holding myself back from purchasing one in every color…even though I could really use a pink one. They are form fitting, but not suction-cup snug and they are long enough to stay put during a run, thereby sparing the world from a glimpse at my midsection. I love their running skirts too, but I haven’t been able to wear one past 10 miles…those shortie-shorts underneath are very unkind at the end of a long run. The waist-band sits low on the hips and is wide and forgiving. It’s short enough to make my stubby legs look less stubby but long enough to cover my tushie. I can imagine that long-legged gals would have an issue with the length, but that’s just too darn bad (I’d give my right arm for longer legs…sorry, just jealous).

I’m not ready to splurge for one of these yet (they have spankies underneath), but I must, must, must run Chicago in a skirt so the purchase is inevitable.

If it weren’t for that damned insulin pump attached to my stomach I would order this instead. Cause running in a dress is so me…

you know what’s funny about skirt sports, they have a run in denver in september, and i registered for it as a male so that I could get the surfshorts instead of the skirt, but, I’m willing to call them and be a girl if you’d like the skirt…
